SO IT BEGINS

I was nine when my father crashed us in the jungle. He died on impact and my mother just vanished. I woke up far from where we hit. I followed the smoke back to the twisted, burning metal. I could just make out the dead broken body of my father. I took what I could and walked away.

The northern jungle on the edge of desert B is OWLMAN country. They were the first human tribe, they were the D.N.A. we all come from. Their stories are all but forgotten. Retold now as children’s tales.
I felt like I was being watched over, while I was lost in that wood, I felt safe as I wandered back to civilisation.
OWLMAN land is sacred and cursed. Few folk try to cross it, those that do are usually never seen again. Anyone emerging from the treacherous jungle are said to have gained powers from the OWLMEN spirits.
I had learned quickly to track down food and water and by the time I got back to civilisation I had the ability to find anything I wanted. It took me two months to find my way out. In that time – things happened to me. I was changed.

My father owed a large debt to a gangland boss called Whitey. A debt that was now passed on to me. Friend’s of my family tried to hide me but Whitey soon came to collect. But he didn’t want money – he wanted my powers. I lived a captive life in Whitey’s giant floating super club/ casino. There he used my powers to find things he wanted, money, people who evaded him artefacts that would gain him power and wealth.

Then I met Tuffy, she was also a slave to Whitey. Separated from her family for a reason no one could remember – Tuffy’s mind had gone. She was my only friend during that time. Through each other we found the courage to escape.

Now Tuffy and I are on the run from Whitey. I still have my powers. I can find anything I want to. I found food and work for both of us. And one day I’ll find our freedom from Whitey.
